Sara Hellmüller

In her PhD research, Dr. Sara Hellmüller analyzed how the interaction between local and international peacebuilding actors influences the outcomes of their programs. Based on the case study of Ituri in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the book examines the relationships between local and international peacebuilding actors over the long term, looking at how they perceived each other, the conflict, as well as peace. The book, therefore, nuances existing definitions of war, peace, and peacebuilding.
